One of the most memorable experiences I've had was working on a documentary about a renowned musician. The film required a lot of location recording, and I had to capture high-quality audio in some challenging environments. One of the most challenging aspects of my job is working with talent. Actors often have no idea how much work goes into capturing their performances, and they can be...uncooperative, to say the least. I've had actors refuse to wear lavaliers, complain about the sound equipment, or even try to adjust the mic levels themselves (don't ask). However, I've learned to communicate effectively with them, explaining the importance of good sound and how it enhances their performance. The equipment itself is a significant part of my job. I work with a range of gear, from high-end microphones to portable recorders.
