Cap - D39adge French Nudist Beauty Contest 5 Exclusive

"This isn't about anatomy," explains Marie-Claire Dubois, the event's director (who, fittingly, conducted our interview while enjoying her morning coffee on her terrace, sans clothing). "In the clothed world, a dress or a suit creates a character. Here, we judge authenticity. Can you walk with grace when you have nothing to hide behind? That is the true test."

The "5 Exclusive" edition doubled down on this philosophy. Contestants—male, female, and non-binary, as the contest is proudly progressive—were judged on posture, skin health (as a reflection of overall wellness), and their ability to engage an audience without the crutch of fashion. To understand the "Exclusive" nature, you must understand the geography. Cap d’Agde's naturist village is a walled city with its own security checkpoints. The Heliopolis sector is the "golden triangle" within that city—luxury apartments, private pools, and a strict no-photography policy without explicit consent. Contestants stand still for 60 seconds while a jury of veteran naturists (ages 55-80) observes their natural stance. Points are deducted for "modesty gestures"—covering oneself, crossing arms, or fidgeting. High scores go to those who stand as comfortably as if alone in a forest.

This is the catwalk segment. Walking barefoot on the smooth stones, contestants must carry a single object representing their relationship with nature—a seashell, a live sunflower, or a polished piece of driftwood—while traversing a 20-meter path. The winner of this round in 2023 received a standing ovation for balancing a small potted olive tree on her head.

What you witness here is the human animal in its natural habitat—laugh lines, asymmetrical breasts, surgery scars, hairy backs, and all—competing not despite those features, but because of the confidence they represent.
